If you’d like to use eFileMyForms’ standard import mapping, you can download templates from eFileMyForms for reference.
- Click New Import on the top menu.
- On the Import Forms page, click the type of form you want to import.
If you want to import forms from a previous year, select that year and then select the type of form you want to import. Not all form types are available for every year listed.

- Enter a label for your import (optional).
Adding a label can be helpful if you have multiple import files and need to reset/void an import. - Go to the Select a Filer tab and click the filer whose import forms you would like to import.
- Click Choose File and select the Excel file that you would like to import.
- Enter a label for your import (optional).
- Click Submit.
- When an empty form appears on the screen, begin mapping your Excel sheet’s column header information.
- If you’re not using eFileMyForms' standard import maps, drag and drop the header information from your import file to the correct location on the actual tax form.
- If you’re using eFileMyForms' standard import maps, click Auto Map and all fields will be mapped to their corresponding location on the tax form automatically.
eFileMyForms’ standard import maps are Excel templates that use column headers best suited for the Auto Map feature. If you’d like to use eFileMyForms’ standard import maps, you can download templates from eFileMyForms for reference.
- When you finish the mapping, click Submit
- On the Summary page, you will see the total number of records that were imported successfully, imported with validation errors, and/or rejected from import. The Details section will provide a summary of any issues that could cause IRS/SSA filing errors, rejects, and/or mailing delivery problems. Be sure to review and update these records.
If all records are rejected the import process won't be completed.
- You can view all the imported forms on the Home page and you can add them to your cart when you’re ready.
You can review your imports by clicking Import History. For more details on an import, click the import's link in the Upload Name column.
