How to use the 1099-NEC State Direct Reporting service

Submitting a 1099-NEC State Filing Order

  1. Click the shopping cart icon to add your 1099-NEC forms to your cart.

    Submitting multiple forms with the same filer and recipient to states can have unintended consequences such as overriding your previous submissions.

  2. Click My Cart.

  3. If you have a 1099-NEC tax form for a supported state in your cart, a box labeled State Filing Services will appear in the following line.

  4. Select the box next to File all eligible forms with eligible states.

    The "State Filing Services" checkbox will not be visible unless you have a 1099-NEC for a supported state in your Cart.

  5. Click Secure Checkout and continue with the checkout process. When your order is placed, your eligible 1099-NEC forms will be filed with their appropriate states.
