New and improved

  • Accessibility:
    • We added descriptive alternative text to the eFileMyForms logos in the header and footer of every page, so screen readers can identify the site on both public and signed-in pages.
    • We added landmarks for the main content and navigation areas of every page, so you can move directly between these areas with a screen reader.
    • We updated the label of the My Cart link to match its visible text, so you can open your cart with a voice command such as “click My Cart.”
  • Home page: We improved the Home page speed. The list of forms now loads one page at a time, so the page opens faster for accounts with many forms.
  • Identity verification:
    • We updated the identity verification message that displays when you review your order. The message now explains that you need to complete identity verification to continue placing orders, and that verifying your identity helps you avoid delays on future filings.
    • We added two identity verification emails. If you started a voluntary verification and it becomes required for your account, you now receive an email with a link to complete verification. When you pass verification without a manual review, you now receive an email confirming that Sovos released the hold on your account.
  • Form errors:
    • We changed how you save a form that has errors. When a form has an error and you select Save Anyway, eFileMyForms saves the form, but you can’t add it to your cart until you fix the error. When you save the form again without errors, you can add it to your cart. Forms that have only warnings save the same way as before. Imported forms follow the same rules.
    • We improved how errors display when you edit a form. When you return to a form, you now see the errors from your last save without saving the form again. The instructions for fixing your errors now display in one place, with the list of transmission errors.
    • We updated forms with the Ready to Resubmit status. Transmission errors for these forms can now be shown or hidden. If a rejected form or a form that is ready to resubmit still has errors, Save Anyway isn’t available, so you need to fix the errors before you save.
  • Form imports: When an import updates a filer or recipient already included in saved, unsubmitted forms, eFileMyForms applies the changes to those forms.

Bug fixes

  • Forms: We fixed a problem that was preventing you from saving a 2025 Form 1099-MISC when the only item reported was Box 7, direct sales, totaling $5,000 or more. You can now save the form with only the Box 7 checkbox selected and no dollar amounts, as the IRS instructions require.
  • Order history: We fixed a problem that was showing zero orders when you opened Order History from a status in the Recent Orders card on the Home page. The status filter now searches all your orders, not only the first page of results.
  • Home page: We fixed a problem that was cutting off the form names and tax years in the Popular Forms boxes on the Home page. These boxes display when your account has no unpaid forms, and each box now shows the form icon, name, and year inside its border.
  • Corrections: We fixed a problem that was showing a form as eligible for correction on one page and not on another. The same correction rules now apply on the Form edit page when you create a correction, and when you order a zero-dollar correction.

New and improved

  • Identity verification: We added the option to submit an identity verification before eFileMyForms prompts it. Select the Verify My Identity option in the Account menu to start a voluntary verification. A voluntary verification does not place your account on hold or prevent completing checkout while it is in progress.

  • Order history and order search:

    • We improved order history and order search speed. Results now load faster on accounts with a large number of orders.

    • We improved order search to return matches on partial order numbers, so you no longer need a complete order number to find an order.

  • Recipients: We added an Edit recipient action to the Form Edit page. The action is available under these conditions:

    • You have edit permission, and the form is not a correction.

    • You have edit permission, and the form is a correction of Form 1095-B or Form 1095-C.

  • Filing error messages: We improved filing error messages. The error text now shows the values from the error.

Bug fixes

  • Forms: We fixed a problem that was requiring a Chapter 4 exemption code on Form 1042-S when only the Chapter 3 indicator was selected.

  • Import: We fixed a problem that failed imported forms during data validation when a field value exceeded the maximum length. Values shortened to fit are now recorded in the import log, and the form no longer needs to be opened and saved to clear the status.

  • Home page: We fixed a problem that was limiting the Home page search filter to the forms shown on the current page. The filter now searches all of your forms, and results start on the first page.

  • Payment: We fixed a problem that confirmed a credit card update even when the update failed. You now see an error message identifying any missing information.

New and improved

  • Form management:
    • We added a Clone Form to In-Progress action for cancelled forms. If a form was cancelled by you or by the Service Bureau, you can now copy the information into a new, editable form. This is available for individual forms or in bulk for entire orders.
    • We improved the batch form cloning process to preserve original filer addresses and department details during duplication.
    • The 1095 data health check now processes large datasets and complex form relationships faster.
  • Checkout: Updating your billing address after a declined payment now recalculates sales tax and order totals automatically. A summary window confirms the new total before payment, and any overpaid funds are returned to your account balance.
  • Order management:
    • We redesigned the Order Detail page with a cleaner layout. The cost breakdown, including taxes, credits, and discounts, now displays in a dedicated summary section.
    • The table listing the forms has improved spacing, clearer borders, and a new Bulk Actions menu to help you manage multiple forms at once.

New and improved

  • Performance: We improved filer history retrieval, order search, and data management speed, even with large data volumes.
  • Account management:
    • We updated the notification language, including renaming "Fraud hold" to "Account hold," so account status and next steps are clearer.
    • We refined fraud detection weighting and raised the threshold for account holds to reduce false positives. High-risk activity is still flagged, but trusted accounts move through without unnecessary interruptions.
  • Forms: We updated form voiding rules to prevent forms from being voided when an associated payment is declined. Form and payment statuses now stay in sync.
  • Refunds: We updated the refund process for orders where the original payment was made more than 180 days ago. Refunds for these orders are now issued as account credits when a credit card refund is no longer possible.

Bug fix

  • Filers: We fixed a problem where the Filers grid displayed recipients when sorting. You can now sort the Filers page and see the correct data.
